Lockdown mailcalls part one

Image
As all of my planned trips was cancelled I saved some money and sold some old old expensive unopened commander products so I had some extra cash to spend on some sweet and stupid cardboard and products. I got myself an amateur version of an playmat just to have something when I play with all the cool old school players with their 1994 Khalsa-Brain playmats.  Basic lands, lots of basic lands. From my earlier blog posts, you might have seen my fascination for white-bordered cards and 4th edition in particular. 4th edition is the set that really got me into Magic since I only had maybe two Revised starters. I also got some Ice Age lands for playing the ALICE format. One of the things I collect is one of each English booster from 4th edition until today. Currently I only miss 10 boosters. The reason I am not going for the older ones is obviously the cost but also the possibility of them being scannable (I would consider buying a Revised booster from a newly opened booster box and maybe two

Corona lockdown decks part three

Three more deckpics from online tournaments I played during the pandemic. Got to try out three decks I haven't really played before. Very mixed results but I had a blast playing these three tournaments. These tournaments are a couple of months old now but came up with different more relevant stuff to post. Also trying to keep the schedule "one post per 10 days" from now on. Raging Bull Series: Online - 2-4 Record (44 players SWE) I couldn't help myself from playing this Disaster Ale pile with Juzam Djinns even though I was advised to save them for Atlantic tournaments. I won against a Lauter.dec and some deck with Prodigal Sorcerers and Hypnotic Specters and lost to Malte's Dragonflies, a cool Berserk Sword of the Ages deck, a Atog deck and some Rukh Egg recursion deck. I don't know why I performed so bad this time, the deck had some results in Swedish lately. I guess I was just a bad Magic player that day. A Tournament for Balance - 5-1 Record (38 players ATL

I didn't expect to write two tournament reports in a row but MobstercoM was too sweet not to write about. At least I've posted more than once in this blog and keeping it to a blog entry every 10 days or so. The Tournament MobstercoM is the online version for a team tournament. The tournament was arranged by " Mano of All Tings Considered " who commented on the stream with several guest commentators. The stream was run by Timmy from Timmy Talks and scorekeeper was Florian and it used the excellent web tournament software by Slanfan. These web tournaments are just getting better and better. Every player had to submit three 60+ cards deck and if you stack them together it must be legal in Swedish old school (reprints allowed though). If you only own two The Abyss you can't move them from Deck A to Deck B between games but if you own four The Abyss you can play two in Deck A and two in Deck B. The only exception was that Savannah was un-unrestricted so you could incl
